Aquarium of the Bay

Aquarium of the Bay

Aquarium of the Bay Reduces their plastic footprint in a variety of ways:

  • Encouraging all staff to follow Zero Waste principles
  • Requiring that events held there abide by Zero Waste guidelines
  • Recycling much of the plastic packaging they receive in retail shipments
  • In 2015, Aquarium of the Bay recycled about 4 cubic yards of film plastic, which means that about two standard pickup truck beds worth of plastic is not infinitely sitting in the landfill.
